Gao Cong Shui Xian" means "Shui Xian of tall arbor," referring to Shui Xian trees that are not pruned, with over 30 years of age but not yet reaching 50 years to be considered Lao Cong Shui Xian. The tree age, along with the plant morphology, imparts the tea with unique characteristics that won't appear in an ordinary Shui Xian made from pruned young bushes, embodying what is known as "Cong Wei" ("Cong" flavor, the distinctive taste of Lao Cong or Gao Cong). A good Gao Cong may exhibit some "Cong" flavor very similar to Lao Cong, such as woody, mossy, and/or dry bamboo leaf notes, depending on the environment and soil where the trees grow. Thus, a high-quality Gao Cong potentially could be an economical alternative to Lao Cong Shui Xian.

This Xiao Jia Wan Gao Cong Shui Xian comes from the same farmer who provides us with The Moss and The Wood, and similarly, it showcases its excellence in both high-quality harvest and exceptional roasting skill. It presents clear "Cong" flavor, reminiscent of certain profiles found in our The Wood. The flavor is well-structured, with complexity and rich minerality, and it features placid yet profound aromas lingering in the Gaiwan and dissolved in the tasty liquor.

This tea is included in the value options of Shui Xian Parties.
