The 2024 new version is now available, from the same plantation and factory, with the same outstanding quality. In addition, we requested the farmer to further re-roast a small batch using the 2023 materials, offering a richer and more subtle nuance in roasting style compared to both the 2024 version and the original 2023 version. Also, the new packaging provides maximum protection for this precious tea, both during transportation and subsequent storage. This tea is included in the value options of Shui Xian Parties.

The packages of the 2023 version were slightly damaged during transportation, possibly resulting in some broken leaves. However, the flavor remains as excellent as the previous 2022 version.

Gao Cong Shui Xian (高丛水仙) means "Shui Xian of tall arbor," referring to Shui Xian trees that are not pruned, with over 30 years of age but not yet reaching 50 years to be considered Lao Cong Shui Xian. The tree age, along with the plant morphology, imparts the tea with unique characteristics that won't appear in an ordinary Shui Xian made from pruned young bushes, embodying what is known as "Cong Wei" ("Cong" flavor, the distinctive taste of Lao Cong or Gao Cong). A good Gao Cong may exhibit some "Cong" flavor very similar to Lao Cong, such as woody, mossy, and/or dry bamboo leaf notes, depending on the environment and soil where the trees grow. Thus, a high-quality Gao Cong potentially could be an economical alternative to Lao Cong Shui Xian.
This Xiao Jia Wan (肖家湾) Gao Cong Shui Xian comes from the same farmer who provides us with The Moss and The Wood, and similarly, it showcases its excellence in both high-quality harvest and exceptional roasting skill. It presents clear "Cong" flavor, reminiscent of certain profiles found in our The Wood. The flavor is well-structured, with complexity and rich minerality, and it features placid yet profound aromas lingering in the Gaiwan and dissolved in the tasty liquor.
