Tian Jian, Gong Jian and Sheng Jian are a group of Anhua Heicha very special. All these three “Jian”s are packed in bamboo basket. The tea is lightly compressed in the basket, but can be easily broken up, so when sold in small quantity instead of a whole basket, it often looks like loose leaf tea. And among these three "Jian"s, Tian Jian is the highest grade. Tian Jian means Heaven's Tips, since it is made only from tender harvest picked in later April and almost doesn't contain stems (less than 5%), so the tea is literally in the shape of "tips".

We offer two Tian Jian teas, both from the same tea garden, of the same grade, and produced in the same factory, but one in 2017 and another in 2012. Both of them are classic Tian Jian, and in like manner remind us of pine resin, dry wood, caramel, also, jujube like sweetness, and similarly bring out warm mouth feeling and slight mint sensation in the aftertaste. However, while in comparison side by side, the advantage of aging shows up. Another interesting fact is that, as a post-fermentation tea, the micro-environment in the individual pack affects its aging process, in general, it is considered a better condition to be aged in a large pack. Our 2012 Tian Jian is packed in 1kg basket, and the 2017 Tian Jian is in big basket of 5kg, which gives a different micro-environment due to the different sizes.
