Wuyi Shan is often called Wuyi mountains, however, it is not really high enough to be "mountains". In fact, the tea plantation area is a hilly land, the elevation of the core production zone is mostly around 400m; and San Yang Feng, the highest peak of Wuyi Shan, is just 717m. Chao Tian Shan is a little-known small hill, at an altitude over 600m, thus it is considered as "high mountain" in Wuyi Shan. The high elevation, together with the acid sandy soil, create a perfect environment for tea trees, thus the tea garden in Chao Tian Shan is destined for excellence.

This 2016 Lao Cong Shui Xian from Chao Tian Shan is appropriately aged. It is endowed with strong and complex flavors, thick texture and rich minerality; besides the floral and fruity scents that medium toasted Yancha commonly has, it is provided with the distinctive woody notes of Lao Cong variety; when the flavor mellows down after several infusions, it also brings out some moss notes and dried bamboo leaf hints that often appear in fine Lao Cong Shui Xian.

This tea is included in the value options of Shui Xian Parties.
