Wuyi Shui Xian, a famous large-leaf varietal with its origin in Jianyang City in the same province, was introduced to the Wuyi Mountains in the first half of the 19th century. Over the past two centuries, it has become one of the most popular Yanchas, moreover, it has also diversified into different varieties based on the age of the trees: Shui Xian (less than 30 years old), Gao Cong Shui Xian (30 to 50 years old), and Lao Cong Shui Xian (over 50 years old), offering diverse flavor profiles.
