2022 Prize-winning Rou Gui comes from the same tea farmer who produces our Lao Cong Shui Xian The Moss and The Wood. If you ever tried these excellent Lao Cong Shui Xian, you will not be surprised why his Rou Gui was awarded a prize in 2022.

Coming from different tea farmers/factories, this Prize-winning Rou Gui 2022 new version is somehow in different style than the previous 2020 version, although both of them perfectly interpret the varietal features of Rou Gui. Each step is a true enjoyment when brewing this 2022 Prize-winning Rou Gui, sweet ripe fruits and warm charcoal toasting notes burst out from the dry leaves in the pre-warmed Gaiwan; spicy and peppery cinnamon notes pleasantly present both in the wet leaves and the tea soup; elegant floral scents flutter on the lid of the Gaiwan and dissolve in the liquor; endless sweetness and strong minerality sustain steadily in the tasty and well-balanced liquor, one infusion after another.

And how about the likewise excellent 2020 version? If you no longer remember, make a comparison between them!

Fans of Yancha may have heard about Tianxin Village, since the best tea gardens in the authentic “Zhengyan” production area, where the incredibly famous “three pits and two ravines” are located, mostly belong to the local villagers of Tianxin. As well its excellent tea gardens, the annual tea competition of Tianxin Village is time-honored and prestigious. Can you imagine winning a prize among thousands of tea samples in such a competition? Our 2020 Prize-winning Rou Gui did just this! Silver medal in 2020!

Rou Gui is reputed to be a highly aromatic varietal, as a silver medal winner, our 2020 Prize-winning Rou Gui naturally is rich in excellent fragrances. Unsurprisingly, the cassia (o cinnamon) note is obvious, as it’s the particular character of the varietal. Besides, a penetrating floral scent smells very natural and pleasant, apparent in the Gaiwan as well as dissolved in the tea soup, feasting both the mouth and the nose. Usually, Yancha beginners pay more attention to the aroma, and experienced drinkers focus more on the tea soup. As a well-selected Rou Gui, its flavorful tea soup also wouldn't disappoint. It’s round and smooth, rich in layers, with persistent sweetness, giving a continuous and stable flavor in numerous infusions.
