Rou Gui is one of the renowned historical tea bushes in Wuyi, originating from Mazhen Peak and boasting a history of over 100 years. In addition to sharing common Yancha characteristics, it is particularly esteemed for its sharp and long-lasting aroma, as well as its iconic cinnamon-like spice. Rou Gui cultivation was very limited until the 1970s. Starting from 1979, Rou Gui was promoted throughout the Wuyi mountains, quickly becoming a dominant variety in the market, among the most popular cultivars.
