This is a fairly unique Fuzhuan. Traditionally in the Fuzhuan production, one of the very first steps is to cut up the raw material, yet, this tea remains all the leaves unbroken, so that after all the handmade process, we can appreciate the pretty huge leaves. Fuzhuan commonly contains certain percentage of stems, which is where the golden flowers start to generate. Our 2016 Gao-Ma Fuzhuan Handmade is made only with leaves and has almost no stems, but incredibly, it is full of golden flowers, although they are tiny like some yellow powder. The goldish and bright tea soup is gentle and vivid, besides the golden flower aroma, also brings some comfortable woody scent, in particular, some pine wood and camphor wood notes.

This tea comes from Gao Ma Er Xi, which probably is the most famous location in the Heicha world. It lies deep in the Daxiong Shan Mountain, about 50km away from the county town of Anhua. The Gao-Ma area has a long history of tea production. It was selected to pay tea tribute for the court since 1392, nowadays the ancient royal tea gardens are still there producing high quality harvest and so far, are considered the best Heicha production area.
