Bulang Shan is the homeland of the Bulang minority, where they have lived for generations. It is believed that Bulang people are the earliest population in the world to cultivate, make and drink tea, which explains why Bulang Shan is one of the most prestigious tea mountains and why it is one of the Puerh regions where the ancient tea gardens are preserved in numbers. Bulang Shan is located on the border with Myanmar, at an average altitude of 1216m, with a south subtropical monsoon climate, plenty of sunshine and an abundance of rainfall, however, with more evaporation than rainfall, the relatively dry climate gives the Bulang Shan’s Puerh a high-profile character: strong flavors and dense aromas.

In our 2011 Bulang Shan Gushu Raw/Sheng Puerh, there is no longer any freshness nor rawness, instead, the elegant flavour of aged Bulang Shan Puerh shows its provenance and clean dry storage. Unlike how some aged Puerh may remind you of a dark attic, in contrast this one makes it seem as though the Gaiwan is full of sunlight. Dry wood, cereal grains, like autumnal fields, a bit spicy and incredibly, with a hint of dried mint or camphor leaves.

Other wonderful Puerh choices from Bulang Shan are available on our website. If you like to find out the subtle differences between them, see our 2013 Man Xin Long Gushu Raw/Sheng, 2018 Man Na Gushu Raw/Sheng, 2018 Bang Nuo Dong Gushu Raw/Sheng etc.
