This excellent aged Shui Xian comes from the same factory as our 2012 Handcrafted Master’s Shui Xian, produced by the grandsons of Yancha master Zhou Zhongxiang.
Despite being a bit more heavily roasted than medium level, slightly leaning towards medium-high, the tea has entirely lost the charcoal hints it once had. It retains only a subtle mixture of fruity and floral notes, the charming aged aromas developed during long-term storage, along with the characteristics unique to the Shui Xian cultivar. The liquor is flavorful and smooth, offering a complex taste, rich minerality, and a comforting mouthfeel. It’s an exceptionally pleasant tea, easy to enjoy—even for drinkers new to aged Yancha.
With its solid quality and accessible price, our 2016 Shui Xian is no doubt a rare option to approach this special category of aged Yancha, and also well-suited for daily enjoyment.
